Generator Start Up Procedure

All Generators should have a basic instruction sheet on the inside of the canopy door to cover:

Always check for any obvious problems: Lube Oil Level, Coolant Water Level, Fuel Level and Leaks.

The Generators used in general have the potential of using two different control panels with a variance in the operation procedure, as shown below.

Check Main Circuit Breaker is switched off.
Turn on the DC Power to ON. Check No Alarms are present.
The Display should read “stop mode”.
Press manual (the hand) button on the control module.
The Display should read “waiting in Manual”.
Press and hold the Green Start Button until the generator starts.
Wait for Warm up Time approx 30 seconds until control module states “Generator Available”.
Check that no alarms are present and that the outgoing load cables are safe
Close the main circuit breaker
To stop the generator, ensure no load is present, open the Circuit Breaker.
Run the generator for 2/3 minutes
Press the Red Stop Button.

Check Main Circuit Breaker is switched off.
Turn on the DC Power to ON. Check No Alarms are present.
The Display should read “stop mode”.
Press manual (the hand) button on the control module.
The Display should read “waiting in Manual”.
Press and hold the Green Start Button until the generator starts.
Wait for Warm up Time approx 30 seconds until control module states “Generator Available”.
Check that no alarms are present and that the outgoing load cables are safe

Check Main Circuit Breaker is switched off.
Turn on the Power Dial to MAN. (Manual)
Press and hold the Green Start Button for 5 seconds / until the generator starts.
Check Green Safety LED is illuminated. Allow the Generator to run for 2 minutes to warm up.
Check that the outgoing load cables are safe.
Close the main circuit breaker
To stop the generator, ensure no load is present, Open the Circuit Breaker. Run the generator for 2/3 minutes.
Switch Dial to Off.
